The Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance, Inc. (OCAPICA) was established in 1997 with the mission to build a healthier and stronger community by enhancing the well-being of Asians and Pacific Islanders through inclusive partnerships in the areas of service, education, advocacy, organizing, and research.
Programs:
Mental Health- Culturally responsive services which include community outreach, wellness and prevention workshops, mental health screenings, education, short-term counseling, peer support services, referrals, case management, and supportive services.
Additional intensive behavioral health services for community members living with serious emotional disturbances or serious mental illness include 24/7 crisis response/intervention, psychiatric services, educational and vocational support, benefits acquisition, individual and group therapy, linkage to primary care, transportation, housing, food, and co-occurring substance use disorder support.
Youth Development -ROOTED empowers high school students across Anaheim Union High School District to become active leaders in their communities and future careers.
LUNA focuses on mental health awareness and resource navigation for both junior high and high school students, with a focus on Latinx/Hispanic youth.
Health - OCAPICA’s health programs provide patients health navigation services such as case management, medical interpretation, transportation, patient navigation, health education, access to health care systems, and insurance for low income families.
Housing Assistance - We provide case management and supportive services such as referrals to community resources, financial counseling, and rental and utilities assistance.
Policy- OCAPICA’s goal is to increase underserved and underrepresented communities’ voices and participation in civic engagement and public policy.
